Whooooooooah...

We're half way there.

I'm twenty weeks as of Saturday, so I'm officially halfway done with the pregnancy.  I'm feeling pretty good in general, and I'm feeling the baby a little bit more (it's still kind of hard to notice, I think due to my anterior placenta).  I still have occasional nausea and I really need to figure out the nosebleed thing (I keep having clots in my nose that make it feel stuffed up and then they bleed when I blow my nose...a very annoying cycle).  I'm having some pains and discomfort in my abdomen and , but it's really mainly from me sitting weird.

I don't want anyone to take this the wrong way (I'm definitely not bragging or anything), but I still have not really gained much weight and I started out on the low side and lost a bit due to the nausea and vomiting in the first trimester.  I'm able to eat more now, but it's disconcerting to me that I haven't gained more.  The baby was growing well (even measuring ahead by almost a week at the 16 week ultrasound) but it's still hard for me not to be concerned.  I know D is right that I shouldn't worry if Baby Blondie is growing fine.

  1. I have and anterior placenta too! I finally felt a really good kick yesterday at just over 22 weeks. It was so cool! Too bad dh wasn't with me.

I'm having that nose clot thing too. Do you have allergy or sinus issues. My doc said that this often happens to women with these sorts of problems. He told me not to be too concerned. It certainly is irritating...and gross.

I'm glad baby blonde is doing well!

  3. I didn't gain any weight until the third trimester, and late into it at that.
(Not because I had been throwing up, but because I was eating so much more healthy and not drinking beer. I never really ate UNHEALTHY or drank a LOT of beer, but little changes make a big, big difference.)
Midwife wasn't concerned, baby was growing fine.
    ((((((((HUGS)))))))))))))

  4. My skinny sister in law didn't gain any weight until the third trimester and both her kids are fine. :)

Congrats on moving along! I think we need another picture! ;)

  7. From what I understand, you don't really "show" until well after 20 weeks with the first pregnancy... and then subsequent ones you gain a lot quicker (and the same seems to go for feeling movement).

  9. Halfway! Wonderful! I "popped" at about 22-24 weeks. As for the nosebleeds, I started to get them at about where you are and still get them. I don't know if this makes you feel better, but in the past two weeks it has transitioned into lots of bloody mucus instead of clots. I did start using a humidifier and spending more time in a steamy shower. Oh, and I don't think this affects the bleeding, but I use Puffs with lotion because my schnoz was getting sore from so much attention.

  10. Ohmygosh I had terrible nosebleeds several times a day. Often, I'd have to get in the shower until I got them stopped.
Worst part of my entire pregnancy, seriously.
    I was so fortunate.
