Food :) Sleep :(

Sorry I haven't posted in almost a month.  I'm super busy trying to finish my class and taking care of K.  K didn't gain much (4 oz) between 7 and 9 months, but she is eating solids well now so we aren't overly worried.  We now just feed her whatever we are having for dinner.  She really likes meat, and ate the mild curry that I made really well.

She is still nursing a lot, although I'm not sure how my supply is.  She's often just nurse for a minute or switching back and forth.

Although food is going really well, sleep is not.  K now naps in her crib, which is good.  When we traveled at Christmastime, she was only sleeping in the carseat driving or on walks, so once we got back I started putting her in the crib.  For a few weeks, she was napping in the morning for about 1 1/2 hours, but the last week or so  it's been only 30-45 minutes.  Wednesday night she was up from about 4 am to after 5:30.  She is nowhere near sleeping through the night.  Often she's waking every 2-3 hours to nurse.  She is still in our room, and we are doing a mix of her sleeping in her crib and cosleeping.  She goes down for the night in her crib, and I try to put her back in after feedings or if she is tossing around a lot.  However, she seems to have a hard time settling without us getting her if we are in the room (I'm pretty sure it's that she sees us and wants us to get her).  We may need to either move her to her own room or put up a curtain to block her view of us.  We need to discuss it.

K will be 10 months on Wednesday, so I'll try to post again then.

  1. I'm glad solids are going well. We had serious problems a few months ago with Mary-Grace's sleeping. We finally realized that she knew we were right there (she slept in her pack n play in our room) and wanted our attention. We moved her into her room and it worked like magic. In about 3 days she went from waking every hour to only waking once or twice. She now sleeps for about 11 hours. We didn't do CIO or anything. I think she was just waking up because she knew we would get her. Now nap time is a whole different story. That's hit or miss.
