Prayer Intentions and Coupons

Since I'm almost 38 weeks (tomorrow), I figure I better ask for any prayer intentions that anyone wants me to pray for during Baby Blondie's birth.  You can post them here or email me (link in my profile).

I have some coupons that I don't plan to use for diapers, wipes, formula, and bottles (not a huge amount but if someone else wants them there's no use in throwing them away).  I also have the promo box of Sim.ilac formula that I was sent.  If anyone is interested, email me and I can give you details.

Quick Takes (Non-Friday edition)

1. I'm having a terrible time with nosebleeds right now, especially since it's getting cooler and drier.  My ears are also having issues too.  I'm not sick really, so there's not much I can do.  I have my humidifier, but I'm not sure how much it's helping.

2. I was at the grocery store today, and the cashier asked if I was pregnant.  That's the first time that I have been asked if I was pregnant.

3. We are currently looking for a new (well, really a preowned) car.  My current car is a 2001 Ci.vic with almost 180,000 miles and D has a 1999 F-150 with about 125,000 miles, so we are going to get something that has a lot less miles (but keep both of our current vehicles).  I'm probably going to get an Ac.cord or a Ca.mry that's 2007 or 2008.  D's not thrilled about getting a car note but we have a good down payment from my parents buying D's car for my little brother to drive back to school after his accident this summer.

10 Surprising (?) Things About Me

Wheelbarrow Rider tagged me for the 10 random things meme.

1.  I love to read historical fiction.  It's probably my favorite genre, especially when combined with mysteries.  I love the Ly.n Ha.milton archeological mysteries and I was sad to read that she passed away.  Any suggestions on good historical fiction are always appreciated.
2.  I graduated college in 3 1/2 years (just like TCIE).  None of my brothers, sisters-in-law or husband graduated in 4 years even either.  One of my brother graduated in 5 years, one in 3 1/2 years and the youngest will graduate in 3 years.  My husband graduated in 4 1/2 years, one of his sisters graduated in 3 1/2 years and the other in 4 1/2 years.
3.  I was in graduate school for 2 years for Developmental Psychology and studied language development.  I really hate writing papers and it was not going to be a good fit for me.
4.  I was a teacher for a little more than two years.  I taught second grade, jr. high science and then 5 grade math/science.  I really don't like the classroom management aspect.  I love tutoring and and I'm really hoping to homeschool.
5.  I make jewelry.  I haven't done it in a while since the local bead store closed and I haven't had much money to do it either.  I have a necklace and earrings to coordinate with most outfits that I own.  I haven't bought a premade necklace or earring in years since I learned to make my own.  I also make most of my mom's jewelry as well.
6. I generally where the same shoes everyday.  Black sandals in the summer and black Sketchers once it's cooler.
7.  I love science & history shows and many sci-fi series.  I loved Quantum Leap, Sliders, and Stargate and we watch Warehouse 13 and Eureka.
8.  I only were makeup for events, church, etc.  I wore makeup everyday when I was teaching, but I don't wear it now that I'm nannying.  I wear mascara a few times a year.
9. My family lived in England when I was really young.  We moved there when I was 18 months old and moved back when I was almost 6 years old.  I went to Kindergarten there and two of my brothers were born there.  I travel to many place in Europe as a young child, but I can't really remember it.
10.  I was about 15 feet from Pope John Paul II as he came into World Youth Day 2002 in Toronto.

CD 1...Cycle 33, 7 Quick Takes

1.Well, today is definitely CD 1.  I've got my call in to PPVI for my cycle review.  Hopefully they received the CD from my P+3 u/s by now.  I'll post with my cycle review update when I hear from them.

2. We are going to a waterpark in less than a week for a long weekend with some friends and family.  It's too bad that I'll still be bleeding/spotting by then, but I'll have to deal with it.

3. I'm working on repainting all the doors in our house and will soon start working on the trim.

4. I'm still waiting for the baby that the family I'll be nannying for is adopting to be born.  The BM was supposedly due June 15.  I'll start about 3-4 weeks after the baby is born.

5.  I hope that PPVI can figure out the crazy bleeding.  I had only 10 days out of 30 days last cycle without bleeding.  Maybe I could get pregnant if I wasn't bleeding all the time.

6.  Yes, I collect turtles.  I'll have to go around my house soon and take pictures of the turtle figurines.  My parents have given me ones from Australia and Italy so far.  If we got a pet, I would want a turtle.

7. I posted yesterday about the IF weekend.  I hope to meet some of you lovely ladies.

A Question I've Been Pondering *ETA

Marie Therese's post about the woman offering to be a surrogate brought up something I have been thinking about over the last few day. Obviously, surrogacy where IVF or IUI are used is against the Church's teaching, since IVF and IUI are inherently immoral.  My question is whether there is any moral issue with a married couple (through normal sexual relations) conceiving a child for the purpose of giving that child up for adoption?  I can't think of any reason that it wouldn't be, but I was wondering if anyone else had thoughts on this.  If it is licit and one could find a couple willing to undergo the pregnancy part, but that wasn't ready to raise more children at that time, it would seem to be a way that fertiles and infertiles could help each other if you could get them together.  Anyone have thoughts on this?  Am I being crazy to even wonder about this?

Edited: Everyone's answers that the intent is where the issue is that makes it too much like the child as a commodity issue that also comes up in IVF, surrogacy, etc makes sense, and that children should be raised by their biological parents as long as the parents are capable of doing so is an important point.  I figured that there must be something I was missing.

Facial Care System

I need to find a new face wash, etc.  I have combination skin with very mild roseacea /redness.  I'd prefer something of higher quality than a drugstore brand (unless it's super awesome), so I'd say moderately priced.  Thanks for your help.

Weird pain

My lymph node in my right armpit is causing bb pain, but I don't know why it's swollen. It was bothering me yesterday too. I had to wear a tanktop instead of a bra today since it was bothering me so much. Very annoying.

P+11 and so far not spotting.

Better ETA

Update: The lady who does scheduling at PPVI is out until next Monday, so I'll have to call while on vacation. Frustrating.

I still haven't found my diamond, but I did get the claim put in for replacing it. My grandma is doing alright, not great but she's at home with home care (I think). I had Friday off, so I was able to rest after a stressful week. We are going on vacation soon to see my relatives on my dad's side, so I'm looking for to that since it also involves lots of swimming and D and I both love the water.

One of our friends was at our house with his almost 2-year-old. The little boy loves D, and D is so cute with him. I got a little sad watching them because I want him to be able to do that with our child (plus the little boy is blond...just like D and I). Our friend even brought up that he can't wait until we have kids. One issue is that our house is not childproofed in anyway, so we had a lot of times where we were have to grab or move stuff so that he wouldn't get into it.

I call PPVI tomorrow to get my surgery scheduled. I'll post and put the date in my sidebar.

Randomness

My brother who is in a religious order knows that I've been having some gynecological problems.  When I talked to him today, he asked about my health, and was going to recommend a dr that he had heard about who's in Omaha.  I then mentioned that I'm already in the process of having Dr. Hilgers review my case.

It's CD 10 and I already have 10C/KL and it's 1 1/2"+  stretch.  It would be great to ovulate before CD 21, but I'll have to wait and see if that's what happens.

What I did on my day off, and It's in the Mail

I had today off since both doctors that I work for were on call this weekend, and the dad ended up having the day off.  I actually got a lot done
  1. Look at skirt that my mother bought so I can make jewelry to match- check
  2. Buy beads to match Mom's skirt, to make a Christmas necklace for her and to finish Grandma's earrings-check
  3. Finish earrings for Grandma so they can be sent- check
  4. Pick up records from ob-gyn's office to be sent to Dr. Hilgers- check
  5. Go to post office to send earrings & necklace to Grandma and letter (w/ records) to Dr. Hilgers- check
  6. Get flu shot- check
  7. Drop off refill prescription for prenatals- check
As you can see from #5, my letter to Dr. Hilgers is in the mail.  I'm quite excited about that.  Now I wait for the reply, and I have a handy-dandy ticker to tell me how long it's been.

I'm pretty sure that the bleeding that I had wasn't a real period since I'm having very fertile (10K or 10 C/K) since yesterday.  Of course D is out of town, so if I'm going to ovulate soon, hopefully my body can wait until at least Wednesday night, when D and I will actually be together.  Of course, we'll be staying at his parents' house, but we'll have to make due.  I'm trying to decide if I should be counting this as a separate cycle or combine it back with the last.  When I sent my chart, I put it on a new line as a separate cycle.  However, it really seems like it could be part of the last, since I am on CD 5 with fertile mucus and only spotting (not even close to normal) and I didn't have a clear ovulation the last "cycle".

Not the greatest start and 100 songs from 1998

This week hasn't gotten off to a great start.  The little boy that I nanny for has been sick and cranky.  I haven't gotten enough sleep, and D has gotten home late both nights so far this week.

I borrowed this meme from
Busted
The Rules: A.) Go to
Music Outfitters. B.) Enter the year you graduated from high school in the search function and get the list of 100 most popular songs of that year. C.) Bold the songs you like, strike through the ones you REALLY hate. (I can't strike through, so I am using italics). I've also added my own editorializing as further distraction.
