Red Spotting, please pray *updated *2nd update

I'm having red spotting.  No cramping or anything.  Please pray that Baby Blondie continues to be ok.

Update:
I have contacted my local ob and PPVI (both right after I saw the spotting) and I'm waiting for a call back.  My progesterone was drawn Monday and I had my PIO injection last night.

Follow Update:
I got an u/s.  The heartbeat is still looking good.  I do have a subchorionic hematoma.  PPVI said my progesterone is 28.4, which is still good, but it did drop from the 40 I had earlier.  They are going to talk to the drs since I told them about the spotting/subchorionic hematoma and see if I need to go back up, but they may not be able to let me know until Monday.

Brown

It was just a tiny bit, but I had some very little brown spotting this morning and it freaked me out.  I called and talked to one of Dr. H's fellows and they said just pelvic rest and plenty of water.  I don't have any cramping.  I really need it to get to Monday and our u/s quickly.  I just need to know that Baby Blondie is ok.  Baby Blondie and I (and D too) could use some prayers.  It's probably nothing but it's still scary.  I'm 6 weeks today.

P+4 Frustration

As I was getting ready for my shower this morning, I saw blood.  I was really hoping that the antibiotics would stop it.  If I have to deal with not ever getting pregnant, I will consider that God's will.  However, I cannot and will not deal with an insane amount of my life taken over by bleeding until I reach menopause.  I'm really more angry than sad about it.  I really need Dr. H. to figure out the cause soon.  I did call PPVI and ask for the nurses to call me back.  For a while now, I've thought about the woman with the hemorrhage who just had faith and touched Jesus and she was healed.  I just wish I knew how to do that.

My new nanny job is going well.  The little boy is great and I really like the mom, who I'm helping out this week since she's still home on leave.  I'm actually off today since she's going to visit some friends, so I'm going to try to get some things done around the house and do errands.

IF weekend reminder

Keep Calm and Carry On (yes, she's still alive...I talked to her yesterday) and I have planned a get-together in NW Louisiana at my house August 13-15 (rescheduled from June), which we had sent an email about a few weeks ago.  If you are tentatively attending, please comment here or send me an email (which can be found in my profile).  I just need to get an idea or how many people we might have.  I'll send more details soon via email.

I'll post a cycle update tomorrow since it'll probably be CD 1.  I'm spotting again, which started Tuesday (P+11).

Ridiculousness

I think I may be P+1, but the ridiculousness is that I'm bleeding AGAIN.  I seriously am so incredibly tired of bleeding all the time.  I just stopped bleeding less than a week ago.  No wonder I haven't ever gotten pregnant when I bleed such a ridiculous amount of the time.  We used Thursday night and this morning.  I was hoping that we might have a chance this time, but this doesn't make it seem very likely.  I really wish I knew what in the world was going on.  I guess I'll call PPVI on Monday.

Job Update, etc.

The family that I talked to on Friday who are adopting a newborn in the next month or so and are also having a baby in December, would like to hire me to watch their children.  However, this job wouldn't start until sometime  (up to a month) after the first child is born, which hasn't actually happen yet.  A very cool thing about the family is that they also go to my church and attend the same Mass that I sing at.  I still need to figure out something temporary to have income for the next month or two.

I'm still having brown tinged CM, but thankfully I'm not having the bleeding like I was.  I'm on P+12, so I'm trying to decide if I should attempt to test should I make it to P+14.  Anyone have suggestions?  I'm not feeling very hopeful for this cycle after the bleeding.

I was thinking about doing a novena to St. Joseph for those whose husbands need prayers so that they can become more of the spiritual head of the family, like St. Joseph.  I probably will wait until June 12 to start it so that I can finish on June 20, Father's Day, which seems fitting.  I know that there are a number of other bloggers that are struggling with this, and I know I need to focus more on praying for my husband.

There was some talk a couple weeks ago about doing a prayer buddy thing for those of us who are still waiting to conceive and/or adopt.  I think it would be a very cool idea, but we'd need to work out some details.  If anyone is interested, let me know and give me some suggestions on how you think we should do it.

Updates: Job, PPVI

I finally got a call from PPVI about 11 today.  The nurse said that progesterone supplementation might stop the bleeding even though my levels are generally on the high side of normal.  She also said that if a couple rounds don't clear it up, they'll move on to looking at other possible causes.  Since tomorrow is P+10, I won't be starting them until next cycle.  I'm still having sporadic bleeding, but most of the time it's just a brown/pink tinge.

On the job situation, I'm still looking.  One possible part-time summer child care job for a friend of mine has fallen through for now.  I just talked to a family who is about to adopt a newborn in June, which I think went well, but they won't need anyone until July or August (depending on when the baby is born).  I'm starting to get a bit stressed out about what I'm going to do.

Annoyed

I got a call from PPVI this morning, but I missed it since I was in the shower.  I called back within 15 minutes (and it was about 10), but I didn't get a return call, even after calling again at 4:30.  So I'm still waiting to hear what Dr. H said about the bleeding, which is really annoying since I called on Tuesday morning and sent my chart yesterday morning (and the fact that they had an answer this morning but I missed the stupid call).  I understand that they have a lot of phone calls, but they ought to return a call where I had missed their call within the day, especially since it was so early in the day that I called them back.  I'm not having constant bleeding, just a tinge of brown right now, but there was a quick spurt of heavier bleeding for a little while yesterday (warning TMI ahead) after a BM.  I'm P+8 today.  I better hear from PPVI early tomorrow, or they'll be getting another call from me.  So annoyed right now.

Bleeding

So last night I started bleeding (TMI warning) during intercourse and it was more like period bleeding than a cut.  Yesterday was P+5 and I did have a bit of a cry while hugging D.  I'm going to call PPVI and let them know, even though they probably can't do anything.  I'm posting email so I'll end here.

Bleeding updates

The bleeding/spotting may have stopped.  I'm saying may since I thought it was stopping a couple days ago.  I talked to PPVI and Dr. H wants me to have an ultrasound done to see what my lining looks like, check for cysts etc.  I've got an appointment at 3 pm with my local ob/gyn and they are supposed to fax the results to PPVI.  I'll post after the appointment, although I probably won't hear from PPVI until Friday or Monday.

Ridiculous *Updated

Update: I just called PPVI and I'm waiting for a call back.  I'll post when they've called me.

I have been bleeding for 19 straight days (and I had two days of bleeding four days before that started).  This is ridiculous and I'm going to be so angry if this happens on any more cycles.  Yesterday it seemed like the bleeding was tapering off, but it got slightly heavier again (still light to medium).  I don't know if it would be worthwhile to call PPVI since I don't know that they can actually do anything to make the bleeding stop.  Since April 1, I've had only 10 days where I wasn't bleeding.  The most frustrating thing about the bleeding for me is that my progesterone (for my luteal phase) is high.  I'm not sure how long I can deal with this; the bleeding better stop in the next 24 hours.  I'm ready to be "fertile" (as inaccurate as that description has been in the last nearly three years).  I'm guessing this cycle will be back toward the longer side since I'm already on CD12 and still bleeding.

TCIE, does last cycle with the crazy bleeding even count as an effective cycle?  Or am I still stuck in "fake" trying?

Is it normal to feel so discouraged after the laparotomy?  I feel less hopeful and more down than I did before.

Cycle Review, etc.

I had my first cycle review with PPVI today.  My P+7 progesterone was 27.0 ng/dL and estradiol was 46.2 ng/dL.  Dr. H wants me to take the 500 mg sustained release B6 and Mucinex twice a day starting on day 10 through P+2.  I may have called prematurely since I'm still not have constant flow, just crazy off and on.  It's either P+11 or P+14.  I took an HPT which was negative (just using the old take an HPT, get your period trick).  I also had a followup today with my wonderful practitioner, TCIE.  I do have some nausea starting, but one of the kids I nanny for vomited yesterday, so it could be just stomach virus nausea.  I promised TCIE that if I don't have real flow by Saturday that I'll test again.

If you haven't seen it, take a look at the prayer intentions link and add your prayers.

Spotting, and PPVI update

I'm having some spotting/bleeding.  I hope it's from ovulation, but with my past history of crazy bleeding lasting from ovulation until my period (which I haven't had in months) I don't know and it worries me.  It better go away soon.  I'm not having any 10C/KL or 10KL today.  D and I did use the past two days.

A nurse from PPVI called me today.  They want me to start the Pain and Brain supplement (which I need to order) and have a P+7 blood draw.  I'll be calling on CD1 for a cycle review.

Congratulations to Life in Mazes, who got a BFP yesterday.

302nd post ***Updated***

Update: I really should know better than to talk about my body improving.  It then immediately does exactly what I said it wasn't.  I have some light bleeding.  My body is crazy.

managed to miss noting my 300th post, so I thought I'd mention it now.

I had a seven day period, so that was very exciting.  It may still sound long, but I usually have 10 to 12 days or more of bleeding, so seven day is a huge improvement.  I'm on day 11, but I'm not having any peak type mucus yet, so I still probably have a little while before I ovulate (just as long as it's by Feb. 21 so we don't have to not use days of fertility this cycle).

I'm working my way into doing the Endo Diet (no dairy, no wheat/gluten-free as much as possible, no red meat, no soy, no eggs, no caffeine, no sugar).  Fertile Thoughts has been a big help on figuring resource and recipes.  I'm slowly trying to switch over and start planning for dinners.  I'll be adding Endo Diet recipes to my recipe blog and I'll also go back and tag the endo diet friendly recipes.  I'm not sure how well I'm going to be able to do it while we are in Omaha for my laparatomy, since I'll be in the hospital for 2-3 days.  We'll be staying at R.eside.nce Inn, so we'll have a kitchen; I just need to come up with a plan on what to get for while we are at the hotel.  I also need to cook a few things for the first week we are home or come up with stuff for my mom to make while she's here.  If anyone has any suggestions on meal ideas that fit the Endo Diet and are easy to make or can be frozen for later, I'd really appreciate it.  Surgery is in just over 3 weeks.

Another family member is pregnant.  However, this time it's my aunt (which is weird to say since she's 27, 2 years younger than me), my mom's youngest brother's (who's is 43) wife, and she's due in August. so I'll be have a cousin who is almost 30 years younger than me and will be closer in age to my kids (hopefully) than even my youngest cousin who is 13 (17 years younger than me).  I'm very happy for them especially since my uncle is in his 40s, plus my aunt had a miscarriage previously.  My grandparents will have a new grandchild when they are 83 years old.

It's snow here in NW Louisiana, and has been for the past 2 1/2 hours.  We are supposed to get about 4-6 inches of snow (it probably won't stick much though) in the next 24 hours.  It's nothing compared to what you East Coasters have dealt with in the past couple weeks, but it's a lot of snow for here and this is about the 4th time it has snow this winter, and we usually get one time with about 1/2 inch of snow at most.

Nevermind

I started spotting/bleeding last night right before bed.  Clearly I shouldn't have said anything in my post yesterday.  I really hope the surgery takes care of this.  I'll probably have bleeding from now until my surgery (and a bit after).  I hate bleeding for three weeks straight.  Only 16 more days until surgery.

Quick Update: 1 Month Until Surgery

Only 30 more days until my surgery with Dr. H in Omaha!!! It's CD 11 and I'm still spotting, even though it's more of a pink tinge to 8C. It seems like this cycle will probably go until just before my surgery, since I'm not feeling like it's going to be an early ovulation this month.

Patron Saint and Novena Plan

In the Patron Saint 0f 2010 drawing done by Where Angels Blog, Elizabeth, Mother of John the Baptist was chosen for me. Of course, Elizabeth dealt with infertility until advanced age, but finally conceived her son, John (the Baptist). Her feast day was yesterday, November 5.

Since my surgery falls on the feast day of St. Juan Diego and the day after the Feast of the Immaculate Conception, I'm planning to do a novena to Our Lady of Guadalupe.

Right now, I've just got spotting, which is normal for me on CD 8.

River in the Street

Me last year by our front porch. The water was higher at the back of our house. We had some bags of dirt that we used to sandbag the door just in case. This time the water only got about 6 feet from the house.

D last year by the fire hydrant in our yard (this time you could actually see some of the yellow part of the fire hydrant). Please ignore how crazy D looks and the beard, he shaved it right before his sister's wedding.

Our street flooded again last night. Thankfully no water got in the house and we only got about 2 inches in our detached garage. In May 2008, the water was about an inch from getting in the house. I have pictures and video from this time, but they're not loaded on the computer yet. I'll post them when I load them on. It, of course, started raining heavily about 7pm and I stayed up until 11:30 watching to see what was happening. D stayed up even later since he was super worried (understandably so), and we both had to be at work at 7. The bad part is that it still hasn't stopped rain, although it's now much lighter. I hear that our area was on the Weather channel nationally last night because of the flooding and tornados (one that knocked down a church steeple...the church that the family I nanny for goes to) in the area.

I started spotting this morning. The crazy thing is that I also started a new cycle in May 2008 right after the flooding. I'm fine with not being pregnant this cycle since my surgery is in 5 weeks and we already have the plane tickets. I am, however, disappointed that I only made it to P+12 before starting to spot. I really hoped I could make it to P+14. I'm not sure yet if this will be CD1 or not. T-40 days until surgery!

Scary bleeding (TMI warning) ETA

Last night I had some really heavy bleeding. I completely soaked a pad in about 2 hours and had very large clots. It was the heaviest bleeding I've ever had (and I'm only P+10). I had some cramping but they weren't too bad. I was very thankful D was home when it happened since I was quite concerned that I might have to go to the ER or Urgent Care. I took some flax oil (like is recommended in Fer.tility, Cy.cles and Nutr.ition, and it slowed down. I don't know if the flax oil actually helped out or not, but if it starts back I'll try again. I called PPVI and talked to a nurse who is going to see what Dr. H has to say and I'll update once I hear back. My body truly does have some serious issues.

ETA: I didn't go to the ER or urgent care because the bleeding lasted 2-3 hours, and it slowed down a lot right after I got concerned. No word from Dr. H yet.

One out of six

You've probably heard the statistic that one of every six couples in the US is infertile, and my cousins and I are a perfect example. I have 5 cousins (on my dad's side) that have children (most have two and are younger than me) and had them without any real infertility problems (the longest it took any of them to get pregnant was 10 months). On our vacation, we visited them and we were asked by five different relatives when we were having children (I've only shared our IF problems with one cousin). We had fun hanging out with their kids and D held my cousin's 7 month old for 45 minutes (very cute), but it was hard to see what we don't have (especially since almost all are blondes...like D and I).

The weather was not ideal on our vacation (cool and rainy which is not great for swimming and other water activities). It was great to see my family that I hadn't see in 2 or 3 years. We drove the 30+ hours straight through, so that was tiring.

I did ovulate during our vacation on CD 17, and I'm P+8. However, I started bleeding/spotting today. I started the nutrition plan yesterday from Fertility, Cycles, and Nutrition by Marilyn Shannon. I'm hoping that it'll at least get me in healthy shape for after my surgery. I'll get into more detail and let you know how it goes later.
